Edgar F. Waterman general scrapbooks, 1942-1959.

A series of scrapbooks created by Edgar F. Waterman of Hartford, Connecticut. The earliest volume includes programs from musical and theatrical performances, an itinerary and hotel billheads from a trip to Canada, programs of the General Society of Colonial Wars for which Waterman served as secretary, and matchbook covers from places he visited. There are also articles from papers and magazines concerning World War II. The three scrapbooks dated between 1954 and 1957 contain strictly news clippings on such topics as local history, antiques, the changes in Aetna management, and some obituaries. One scrapbook, dated 1957-1959 consists entirely of obituaries. Waterman evidently knew the historical value of his scrapbooks as each one is indexed.

5 volumes.
